It has sweeping views across a rolling rural landscape with the ocean in the distance to the north-west. Sprinkled with grass trees, the block has tall stands of remnant eucalypt forest to the east and west, as well as a seasonal creek.

A strong contemporary design draws inspiration from the colours and materials of the landscape and the nearby historic buildings.

The owners wanted a solid and permanent looking structure with a relaxed open plan layout that maximised views and provided for simple practical utility.
