NORTH
PERTH HOUSE
A
long, narrow sloping site made for some serious design challenges
for this project in suburban North Perth.
The
east-west orientation, cross fall and height restrictions further
added to the challenge but has led to a very pleasing design outcome.
The
local Eton Precinct context inspired a simple contemporary mediterranean
aesthetic with the use of rendered white cubic volumes contrasting
with stonework and timber.
Upper
floor windows capture city glimpses while a northern light-court with
a pond will bring soft, dappled, reflected light into the interior
spaces and provide cooling cross ventilation.
Wide
bi-fold doors open from the family room onto a timber deck at the
rear.
